Luke Burnthorne

Luke Burnthorne, of Loranger, Louisiana, passed at home on Monday, January 17, 2022, at the age of 78. He was born on Monday, July 5, 1943, in Independence, Louisiana. Luke worked for Johnson Controls, retiring after 40 years. Luke is survived by his son & daughter-in-law, David Burnthorne and Denise Russo Burnthorne, son, Brian Burnthorne, grandchildren, Brennen Burnthorne, Brianna Burnthorne, Dustin Burnthorne, Dylan Burnthorne, Briley Burnthorne, Brian Burnthorne Jr., and Luke Burnthorne, brother & sister-in-law, Louis and Betty Burnthorne. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Horner Burnthorne, parents, Luke and Mary Ann Reid Burnthorne, siblings, Gladys, Wilmer, Pete, Mearl, Albert, Alice, and Jay (J.D.). The family would like to thank the Nurses and staff at Heart of Hospice, Ashley and Irene Brown, Alechia Taylor, and Allison Wiggins, for providing care and comfort to Luke during his last days. Family and friends will be received at First Baptist Church of Ponchatoula, 325 E. Pine St., Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454 on Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. A Funeral Service will be held at First Baptist Church of Ponchatoula, on Saturday at 11:00 am, Interment will follow at Noah Cemetery in Husser, Louisiana.
