Danny Alexander Rushing Easley, SC Danny Alexander Rushing, 63, of Easley, husband of Deanette "Dee" Sandifer Rushing, of Easley, passed away Friday, February 11, 2022. Born in Charlotte, NC, he was a son of the late Hazel and Faye Stilwell Rushing. He worked in the Charlotte area as a construction manager for many years, and more recently in the Cashiers-Highlands region. Danny spent much of his life poured out in service to others. For many years he was a volunteer coach for various football and basketball teams. He traveled countless summers doing missionary work in both Santa Cruz and Camiri, Bolivia supporting the Jamie Dunn Hogar De Ninos children's home. Over the years, he was a Sunday School teacher, a mentor, youth volunteer, and loved sharing his gift of singing and music. His more recent hobbies included hiking, off-roading in his Land Cruiser, cooking, and dabbling in guitar. He loved his friends and family fiercely, and loved his Savior, Jesus, even more. In addition to his loving wife of 34 years, he is survived by daughter, Mary Beth Grayson (Brett); son, Ross Rushing; brother, Reid Rushing (Susan); sister, Janet Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother, Michael Rushing, Sr.; nephew, Michael Rushing, Jr.; and niece, Tessa Rushing. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home, Powdersville Road. I am absolutely heartbroken! He was one more amazing and beautiful soul. He called me his "Lil' Sis" and I called him "Big Bro". He was loved BIG! We had a wonderful co-worker relationship. He was by far one of the smartest men I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and working with on the daily. I truly hate that I was out of town and missed his Going Home Celebration Service. He adored Dee and was so proud of his children. I will always remember our laughs, conversations about music, watching music videos on some old artists that he adored "back in the day". He knew every artists name, the songs they sang, and would even shock me with the year they recorded them. He was a music fanatic! And, when he loved... he loved BIG as well! He will NEVER be forgotten.

To the Family:
You all are in my heart, thoughts, and prayers. I pray you will feel them in the days ahead. Know this.... I was more than blessed to call him my friend/co-worker/Big Brother! Thank you for sharing Danny with us all!

In Christ,
Deana Kiser

Mr. Rushing was more than just a coach to me back in high schoolI looked at him like another parent. Ross and I would spend many an afternoon hanging out at Bojangles with Coach Rushing talking about our musical obsessions. I'm grateful for those times and that our paths crossed when they did. Sending love to the Rushing family. I'm so sorry for your loss and thankful for the impact you've had on my life!

I am so terribly sorry for your loss. I am speaking on behalf of the team form 4th Street Market in Highlands. Danny would visit us every weekday morning and afternoon. He was part of our family and we all genuinely loved him dearly. We appreciated his knowledge for music , his stories about family, life and his sincere interest in our lives. We will miss him. Words for your family are hard to come by right now. What I can say is this.. Those we love truly never pass, for they leave an indelible imprint on our hearts that never goes away.

You were my little brother who followed me everywhere and was my pest . My chore was to watch you and keep you from harm by order of Mom.We grew up had families went our separate ways and sometimes we didn't see each other but that heart tug was always there . If you needed me or me you we were just a phone call away . I will miss that . You are the brother, son, husband and father to be proud of. I know everyone in heaven are rejoicing. Our hearts are heavy for us and glad for you. I will see you again little brother so until we meet again I love you I will remember your smile.
