Mr. Danny Alexander Rushing

Danny Alexander Rushing Easley, SC Danny Alexander Rushing, 63, of Easley, husband of Deanette "Dee" Sandifer Rushing, of Easley, passed away Friday, February 11, 2022. Born in Charlotte, NC, he was a son of the late Hazel and Faye Stilwell Rushing. Danny graduated from Independence High School in 1977 and went on to attend college at Western Carolina University and UNC Chapel Hill, competing in track and field at both institutions. He worked in the Charlotte area as a construction manager for many years, and more recently in the Cashiers-Highlands region. Danny spent much of his life poured out in service to others. For many years he was a volunteer coach for various football and basketball teams. He traveled countless summers doing missionary work in both Santa Cruz and Camiri, Bolivia supporting the Jamie Dunn Hogar De Ninos children's home. Over the years, he was a Sunday School teacher, a mentor, youth volunteer, and loved sharing his gift of singing and music. His more recent hobbies included hiking, off-roading in his Land Cruiser, cooking, and dabbling in guitar. He loved his friends and family fiercely, and loved his Savior, Jesus, even more. In addition to his loving wife of 34 years, he is survived by daughter, Mary Beth Grayson (Brett); son, Ross Rushing; brother, Reid Rushing (Susan); sister, Janet Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother, Michael Rushing, Sr.; nephew, Michael Rushing, Jr.; and niece, Tessa Rushing. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home, Powdersville Road. A reception will follow at the South & West event venue, 109 South 1st St., Easley, SC. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to ACTS Missions of North Carolina, a global missionary support organization. Danny served as a board member since its inception and valued their ongoing work.
