Alan Scarfe’s legacy
Born in England though residing at various times in Los Angeles and Canada, Alan Scarfe trained on British stages, including the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Throughout the 1970s, he had hundreds of performances on stages across the world.
Though he made his on-screen debut in 1963, starring in Canadian film “The Bitter Ash,” it wasn’t until the 1980s that Scarfe began making regular appearances in movies and on television. Once his career took off, however, Scarfe became a recognizable character actor seen on TV shows like “Alien Nation,” “MacGyver,” “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” “NYPD Blue,” and “Star Trek: Voyager.”
Scarfe also leapt memorably to the big screen, most notably in “Lethal Weapon 3” and “Double Impact,” but his longest running role was in the TV series “Seven Days,” on which he played Dr. Bradley Talmadge. In 2003, he was a Gemini Award nominee for Best Actor in a Miniseries for his work in “Aka Albert Walker.” In 1985, he won a Genie Award for Best Supporting Actor in “The Bay Boy.” His son, Jonathan Scarfe, is also an actor and director.
