Sam Raimi films and beyond
Hicks’ debut role was in Sam Raimi’s “Evil Dead II” (1987), in which he played a local who helps Bruce Campbell’s Ash in his fight against the deadites. Hicks went on to appear in other Raimi films, including “Intruder” (1989), “Darkman” (1990), and “Oz the Great and Powerful” (2013). Hicks had a small role in “Spider-Man 2” (2004) and appeared again with Campbell in “My Name Is Bruce” (2007). Less than a month before his death, Hicks announced to fans on Facebook that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.
