“I Like to Move It”
Morillo was a DJ and producer who made music in the early 1990s using the alias Reel 2 Real. In 1993, he teamed up with Trinidadian singer the Mad Stuntman for the dance floor sensation “I Like to Move It.” The track appeared in the animated film “Madagascar.” He started his own record label called Subliminal Records, releasing a full-length album and many singles. In July Morillo was arrested for battery, a charge he denied. He was due in court this Friday.
Very sad to learn of the passing of @ErickMorillo – we first met in New York early 90’s he became a firm favourite guest on my Dance Anthems shows from late 90’s and was always smiling when I met him – such sad news RIP Erick
R.I.P @ErickMorillo such sad news. Mr Subliminal, pretty much single handily changed the game. House Music Royalty and an absolute king on the decks. Will always be a massive honour to have DJed for him at his Subliminal Sessions Arena’s at Creamfields. ❤️ pic.twitter.com/RDneGHQ01q
