After playing as a quarterback at Sacramento State University and briefly in the NFL, Knapp began his coaching career at Sacramento State. His first NFL coaching job was for the San Francisco 49ers, and he moved on to coach the Atlanta Falcons, Oakland Raiders, Seattle Seahawks, and Houston Texans. Knapp was the quarterbacks coach for the Broncos when they won Super Bowl 50 in 2016. He had just been hired by the Jets in early 2021.
The Raiders are saddened and stunned to hear of the passing of Greg Knapp, who served as offensive coordinator over two stints with the Silver and Black.
