At least 43 people were killed in an explosion at the Hotel Saratoga in Havana, Cuba on Friday. More than 80 others were injured, and several remain in critical condition, days later.
The historic luxury hotel had been closed for two years during the pandemic, and it was scheduled to reopen soon. No guests were staying there, but hotel workers were preparing the building for its reopening. The cause of the explosion is believed to be connected to a natural gas tanker that was resupplying the hotel.
