Musical career
Green was a co-founder of Modest Mouse in 1993 in Issaquah, Washington. Their early releases received critical acclaim, especially 2000’s “The Moon and Antarctica.” Green briefly left the band in 2003, rejoining a little over a year later. In his absence, he missed the recording of “Good News for People Who Love Bad News,” Modest Mouse’s popular breakthrough with singles including “Float On” and “Ocean Breathes Salty.” Drummer Ben Weikel took over for Green for that album. After returning to Modest Mouse in 2004, Green played drums on their remaining albums and EPs, with singles including “Dashboard,” “Lampshades on Fire,” and We Are Between.”
