Broncos Legend

Sturm played college football at the University of Illinois and started his professional career in the Canadian Football League. After a few years in the CFL, he signed with the Broncos and starred as a lineman with the team from 1961 until 1966 where he was a two-time AFL All-Star. He finished his career playing for New Orleans, Houston, and Philadelphia. He was named to the Broncos top 100 team last July.  In 1971, Sturm was approached by gamblers and offered money to fumble snaps and throw a game but he refused and told his coach who turned them in to the FBI. Sturm suffered from dementia and his family has donated his brain to the Concussion Legacy Foundation for study.
