Lynette Dupree-Richardson was a stage singer and actress who made her career performing in musicals, and who also made appearances on shows like “Desperate Housewives” and “Law and Order.” 

Lynette Dupree-Richardson’s legacy 

Though Lynette Dupree-Richardson had a performing career that included appearances on shows like “Desperate Housewives,” “NYPD Blue,” “The Good Place,” and “Law and Order,” she thrived on the stage, her powerful voice leading a wide array of musicals in theaters across the nation. 

Her work brought her around the world, touring for shows such as “Dreamgirls,” “Josephine,” “The Color Purple,” and “Broadway’s Best.” She even ended up on Broadway, with a role in “Bring in ’da Noise, Bring in ’da Funk.” Performing as Lynette Dupree, her voice was her signature feature. 

Beyond the stage, Dupree-Richardson also provided voice work for the Disney animated series “The Lion Guard,” and was director of the Los Angeles Third Community Praise Choir, where her voice continued to be a powerful ally.
