Marc Gilpin’s legacy
“Jaws 2” was one of Gilpin’s first acting credits, as he replaced the young actor who had played Chief Brody’s son, Sean, in the original “Jaws.” He was among the group of young people from Amity Island who were stranded on sailboats while being stalked by a great white shark.
After his success in “Jaws 2,” Gilpin went on to make guest appearances on such TV shows as “CHiPs,” “Fantasy Island,” “Silver Spoons,” and “China Beach.” He also had roles in movies, including “Earthbound,” “The Legend of the Lone Ranger,” and “She’s Out of Control,” his final credit. Gilpin left acting as a young man, later becoming a software engineer. He was the younger brother of actress Peri Gilpin, best known for starring as Roz in “Frasier.”
