USC standout and NFL career
Tuerk played football at USC, where he was named a Freshman All-American in 2012. In the 2016 NFL draft, he was chosen by the Chargers in the third round, but an injury kept him on the inactive list during his first season. In 2017, Tuerk was suspended by the Chargers for a violation of the NFL’s performance-enhancing substances policy. Tuerk signed with the Cardinals later in 2017, playing a single NFL game with them in December of that year against the New York Giants. He was released by the Cardinals in 2018.
