Miller Farr’s legacy
Farr played both football and track at Wichita State University before being chosen in the first round of the 1965 AFL draft by the Denver Broncos. He remained in the AFL through the 1970 merger with the NFL, first traded to the San Diego Chargers after a single season. In 1967, Farr was traded to the Houston Oilers, where he had his most successful seasons, including three consecutive AFL All-Star appearances. In 1968, he led the AFL in interception touchdowns.
After the AFL-NFL merger, Farr moved on to the St. Louis Cardinals, playing three seasons before finishing his NFL career with a single season with the Detroit Lions in 1973. He played briefly for the World Football League’s Florida Blazers in 1974 before his retirement.
