Working in harsh conditions
On “Deadliest Catch,” Discovery spotlights crab fishermen working in the Bering Sea, a dangerous job in a cold and punishing environment. McGlashan was featured on the show for seven years, beginning in 2013. He worked as the deck boss on the F/V Summer Bay. A native of Alaska, McGlashan’s struggle with addiction was on display when he was asked to leave the boat to deal with it in season 13. He successfully got sober and inspired others with his recovery journey.
