At least 97 people have died in a building collapse in Surfside, Florida.
The Champlain Towers South condo collapsed on Thursday, June 24. The search to recover the bodies of the missing is still underway.
Some of the victims’ identities have been released:
Tzvi Ainsworth, 68. His wife, Ingrid Ainsworth, also died in the collapse.
Ingrid Ainsworth, 66. Her husband, Ingrid Ainsworth, also died in the collapse.
Michael David Altman, 50. He was a native of Costa Rica who had lived in the U.S. since he was 4 years old.
Richard Augustine, 77.
Margarita Vasquez Bello, 68.
Luis Bermudez, 26. He was the owner of Saucy Boyz Clothing, where he designed colorful shirts, socks, and hats. He had muscular dystrophy and used a wheelchair.
Claudio Bonnefoy, 85. He was a lawyer for the United Nations. His wife, Maria Obias-Bonnefoy, also died in the collapse.
Maria Gabriela Camou Font, 64. Her husband, Miguel Leonardo Kaufman, also died.
Andrea Cattarossi, 56. She was a resident of Argentina who was visiting her family. Her parents, Gino and Graciela Cattarossi, and her sister, Graciela Cattarossi, were also killed in the collapse.
Graciela Cattarossi, 48. She was a lifestyle photographer. Her parents, Gino and Graciela Cattarossi, daughter, Stella Cattarossi, and sister, Andrea Cattarossi, were also killed in the collapse.
Graciela Cattarossi, 86. She was a former United Nations diplomat who later bought and renovated Miami’s Lafayette Hotel along with her husband, Gino Cattarossi. He was also killed in the collapse, as were their daughters, Andrea and Graciela Cattarossi, and granddaughter, Stella Cattarossi.
Gino Cattarossi, 89. He was a former civil engineer who later bought and renovated Miami’s Lafayette Hotel along with his wife, Graciela Cattarossi. She was also killed in the collapse, as were their daughters, Andrea and Graciela Cattarossi, and granddaughter, Stella Cattarossi.
Stella Cattarossi, 7. She was the daughter of Graciela Cattarossi, who was also killed in the collapse.
Dr. Gary Cohen, 58. He was a physiatrist and attending physician at a Veterans Affairs medical center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He was visiting his brother at the time of the collapse.
Magaly Delgado, 80. She was a native of Cuba who had lived in the U.S. since 1961.
Nicole Dawn Doran, 43. She had recently married Ruslan Manashirov, who also died.
Cristina Beatriz Elvira, 74. She and her husband, Leon Oliwkowicz, died in the collapse.
Bonnie Epstein, 56.
David Epstein, 58.
Stacie Fang, 54. She was the vice president of Customer Relationship Management Conference. Her 15-year-old son was found alive in the building’s wreckage.
Francis Fernandez, 57.
Andreas Giannitsopoulos, 21. He was an economics major at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. He was visiting a family friend, Manual LaFont, who also died in the collapse.
Catalina Gómez, 45. She was a resident of Medellín, Colombia who was on vacation with her husband, Luis Fernando Barth Tobar, and daughter, Valeria “Vale” Barth Gómez, who also died in the collapse.
Valeria “Vale” Barth Gómez, 14. She was a resident of Medellín, Colombia who was on vacation with her parents, Luis Fernando Barth Tobar and Catalina Gómez, who also died in the collapse.
Edgar Gonzalez, 42. He was a lawyer. His wife and daughter were injured in the collapse but survived.
Emma Guara, 4. Her parents, Marcus Guara and Anaely Rodriguez, and her sister, Lucia Guara, also died in the collapse.
Lucia Guara, 10. Her parents, Marcus Guara and Anaely Rodriguez, and her sister, Emma Guara, also died in the collapse.
Marcus Joseph Guara, 52. He was an employee of Kassatex New York. His wife, Anaely Rodriguez, and daughters, Lucia and Emma Guara, also died in the collapse.

Miguel Leonardo Kaufman, 65. He was on vacation from Uruguay, visiting his family. His wife, Maria Gabriela Camou Font, also died.
Frank Kleiman, 55. He had recently gotten married to Ana Ortiz, who was also killed in the collapse, and was eagerly expecting his first grandchild. His mother, Nancy Kress Levin, and brother, Jay Kleiman, were also killed in the collapse.
Jay Kleiman, 52. His mother, Nancy Kress Levin, and brother, Frank Kleiman, were also killed in the collapse.
Manuel “Manny” LaFont, 54. He led a roadway safety division at at Lindsay Transportation Solutions. He was also a coach for his 10-year-old son’s baseball team, The Astros at North Shore Park.
Nicole “Nicky” Langesfeld. She was an associate at Reed Smith law firm in Miami. Her husband, Luis Sadovnic, also died in the collapse.

Nancy Kress Levin, 76. Her sons, Frank and Jay Kleiman, were also killed in the collapse.
Andres Levine, 26. He worked in finance and was planning to get married in August.
Alexia Maria Pettengill López Moreira, 9. Her parents, Sophia López Moreira and Luis Pettengill, sister, Anna Sophia Pettengill López Moreira, and brother, Luis Vicente Pettengill Lopez Moreira III, also died.
Anna Sophia Pettengill López Moreira, 6. Her parents, Sophia López Moreira and Luis Pettengill, sister, Alexia Maria Pettengill López Moreira, and brother, Luis Vicente Pettengill Lopez Moreira III, also died.

Antonio Lozano, 83. He and his wife, Gladys Lozano, died together. They would have celebrated their 59th anniversary in July.

Dr. Ruslan Manashirov, 36. He was a neurologist and family doctor at ClareMedica of South Miami. He had recently married Nicole Doran, who also died.
Juan Alberto Mora Jr., 32. He was from Chicago and was visiting his parents at the time of the collapse.
Hilda Noriega, 92.
Arnold Notkin, 87. He and his wife, Myriam Notkin, died together.
Myriam Notkin, 81. She was a banker and a real estate agent. She and her husband. Arnold Notkin, died together.
Fabián Nuñez, 57.
Maria Obias-Bonnefoy, 69. She was a budget officer for the International Monetary Fund. Her husband, Claudio Bonnefoy, also died in the collapse.
Leon Oliwkowicz, 80. He and his wife, Cristina Beatriz de Oliwkowicz, died in the collapse.
Ana Ortiz, 46. She was the mother of Luis Bermudez and had recently gotten married to Frank Kleiman, both of whom also died in the collapse.

Michelle Anna Pazos, 23. She was on vacation from Montreal visiting her father, Miguel Ángel Pazos, who also died.

Luis Pettengill. His wife, Sophia López Moreira, and their children, Alexia Maria, Anna Sophia, and Luis Vicente Pettengill López Moreira, also died.

Moises Rodan, 28. He was a recent graduate of the University of Florida, where he majored in computer engineering.

Elaine Sabino, 71. She was a flight attendant for JetBlue.
Luis Sadovnic, 28. He graduated with his MBA from Nova Southeastern University in 2019. His wife, Nicole “Nicky” Langesfeld, also died in the collapse.
Rosa “Rosie” Saez, 70. She was a native of Cuba.
Simon Segal, 80. He was a structural engineer and a professor at Florida International University.

Luis Fernando Barth Tobar, 51. He was a resident of Medellín, Colombia who was on vacation with his wife, Catalina Gómez, and daughter, Valeria “Vale” Barth Gómez, who also died in the collapse.

Gonzalo Torres, 81. He was a member of the congregation at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Miami Beach.
