Acting career

Tristan made her screen debut in the 1970 cult classic, “End of the Road.” She had a key role in the 1971 thriller “Klute” and in 1973 appeared in another cult classic, “Scarecrow.” Tristan’s other films included “Man on a Swing” and “Down and Out in Beverly Hills.” As she battled Alzheimer’s, Tristan wrote the screenplay for “The Looking Glass,” a movie about a woman who is beginning to experience dementia. She also starred in the film, even as she struggled to remember her lines. Tristan’s TV appearances included “Kojak,” “The Incredible Hulk,” and “The Waltons.”
