Geoffrey Deuel was an actor best known for his roles in the John Wayne movie “Chisum” and the soap opera “The Young and the Restless.”

Geoffrey Deuel’s legacy

Deuel’s professional acting career began in the mid-1960s with roles on such TV shows as “The Monkees,” “The High Chaparral,” and “The Mod Squad.” He made his movie debut in 1970, playing Billy the Kid alongside John Wayne in “Chisum.”

Though he would appear in a handful of other movies over the years, it was television where Deuel spent the bulk of his career. In the early 1970s, he became known on “The Young and the Restless” as Dave Campbell, a role he played for four years. His many other TV show appearances included on “Mannix,” “Mission: Impossible,” “The Streets of San Francisco,” “Marcus Welby, M.D.,” “Planet of the Apes,” and “Barnaby Jones.”

Deuel wasn’t the only actor in his family. He was the younger brother of Pete Duel, best known for his starring role on TV’s “Alias Smith and Jones” before his untimely 1971 death.
