Acting career
Resnik began acting on the Chicago stage in the 1970s, establishing herself as one of the city’s stars as she acted in top theaters all over the city for decades. In addition to stage work in Chicago, she toured with major productions, including playing Fantine in a long-running national tour of “Les Miserables.” Her other touring shows included “Sister Act,” “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels,” and “Thoroughly Modern Millie.” Resnik had supporting roles in the movies “Backdraft” and “Little Big Top,” as well as a recurring TV role on “Cupid.” She also made appearances on the TV shows “Crime Story,” “The Untouchables,” and “The Playboy Club.”
