Kevin Meaney, stand-up comedian and actor, died at his home in Forestburgh, New York, Friday, October 21, 2016. He was 60.

Kevin Meaney, stand-up comedian and actor, died at his home in Forestburgh, New York, Friday, October 21, 2016, according to multiple news sources. He was 60.

His agent, Tom Ingegno announced his death to the media. The cause of death was not immediately known.

Best known for his impression of his mother and the line, “That’s not right,” Meaney’s first HBO comedy special in 1986 catapulted him into the comedy mainstream. He then went on to appear on “The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson” multiple times.

He starred as the title character in the CBS television sitcom version of “Uncle Buck,” based on the film starring John Candy. The show lasted one season, from 1990 – 1991.

Born April 23, 1956 in Valhalla, New York, Meaney began his comedy career in 1980. Though he found success in television, he always returned to live stand-up comedy.
