Okae frequently appeared on Japanese TV for decades, including hosting the morning show “Hanamaru Market” for almost 20 years. She was internationally known for voiceover roles, including Naoko in Studio Ghibli’s “The Cat Returns” (2002) and Elina in “The Dog of Flanders” (1997), as well as Ryouko in the manga series “Attack No. 1” (2005).
