Pete Retzlaff was a star tight end with the Philadelphia Eagles who was a five time Pro Bowl selection and helped the team win the 1960 NFL championship.

NFL Career

Retzlaff played with the Eagles from 1956 until 1966 and was the franchise leader in receptions when he retired. He helped lead the team to the NFL championship title in 1960. Nicknamed “Pistol Pete,” he is still number 2 in total receiving yards for the Eagles, behind Hall of Famer Harold Carmichael. After playing college football at South Dakota State, Retzlaff was waived by the Detroit Lions. He served in the Army and then was signed by the Eagles.
