On "Saturday Night Live," Jan Hooks made a name for herself portraying real-life characters from Bette Davis to Tammy Faye Bakker.

Veteran actor and "Saturday Night Live" performer Jan Hooks died Oct. 9, 2014, after battling a serious illness. Before her death, Hooks appeared on "30 Rock" and "The Simpsons." In the 1990s, she co-starred on popular sitcom "Designing Women." But the actress who got her start as a member of The Groundlings improv group in Los Angeles, is best remembered for her many years on "Saturday Night Live." On "SNL" she made a name for herself portraying real-life characters such as Bette Davis, Tammy Faye Bakker, Ivana Trump, and Kathie Lee Gifford, as well as first ladies Hillary Rodham Clinton, Betty Ford, and Nancy Reagan.
