Richard Roat starred as Dr. Jerry Chandler on the 1960s soap opera “The Doctors.” He would go on to make numerous appearances on television shows including “Seinfeld,” “Mad About You,” “Friends,” “Cheers,” “Golden Girls, “Happy Days,” “Kojak” and “24.” In “Seinfeld,” he played Dr. Berg, a physician who labels Elaine as a difficult patient, and in “Friends,” he catches Ross dating a student. He was also a successful tax preparer for the entertainment industry.
