Rudy Moreno’s legacy
Los Angeles-born Rudy Moreno was a regular on comedy stages, especially on the West Coast. The stand-up comedian developed a reputation as a mentor to others, helping up-and-coming comedians navigate the often-difficult comedy circuit. He was also a prominent Latino stand-up comic, leading to his nickname, the “Godfather of Latino Comedy.”
Moreno most often appeared at the Ice House Comedy Club in Pasadena, California, where he was a regular. When not working the stage, Moreno was seen on screen, appearing in television shows like “Arrested Development,” “The Shield,” “ER,” “Everybody Loves Raymond,” “Kingpin,” and a host of others. He also appeared in and helped write the Comedy Central series, "Gabriel Iglesias Presents Stand Up Revolution," starring Gabriel Iglesias.
