Kentucky boy with cancer moved and inspired with his positive attitude.

The world is in mourning for a 13-year-old from Beech Grove, Kentucky, who died Wednesday night.

During his two-year-plus battle with cancer, Lane Goodwin inspired people around the world and became a social media sensation for his "thumbs up" attitude. Hundreds of thousands followed his Facebook page, and many – from TV celebrities and sports stars to schoolchildren and their families – shared messages of support and thumbs up photos via Facebook and Twitter.

Many of theses same well-wishers have tweeted and shared messages of sympathy in the wake of Lane's death.
