Career in journalism
A native of India, Pemmaraju grew up in Texas, where she began her journalism career. She won an Emmy Award while working for WMAR-TV in Baltimore, then moved on to Boston’s WLVI and WBZ-TV, where she won two more Emmys. Pemmaraju was hired by Fox News for their October 1996 debut, and she hosted news programs for the network including “Fox News Now,” “Fox on Trends,” “Fox News Live,” and “The Fox Report.” She became known for her interviews of notable people including the Dalai Lama, Buzz Aldrin, and President Donald Trump. After leaving Fox News for several years when her daughter was born, Pemmaraju returned to the network and remained until 2018, when she joined Bloomberg News.
