Aberdeen - Funeral service for Brian S. Catlette, 60, of Aberdeen will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2006, at Zion Lutheran Church at Aberdeen. The Rev. Marcia Sylvester will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home and for one hour prior to the service at the church. He died May 3, 2006, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital. Brian S. Catlette, son of Noel James and Maude Elizabeth (Russell) Catlette, was born Oct. 8, 1945, at Aberdeen. He grew up southeast of Westport, S.D., where he started school. He then graduated from Frederick High School with the Class of 1963. He was united in marriage to Pamela Niva on March 29, 1969, at Frederick, S.D. He has worked road construction for most of his working life, working in the Midwest for various companies. He became employed with the City of Aberdeen in 1989, working for the Street Department. Brian enjoyed trapping and hunting with his dog, reading, gardening and liked NASCAR racing. He loved sports, either watching or participating and playing on a softball league was always one of his favorites. His most memorable and relaxing moments were when he could spend time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Chris (Ann) Catlette of Rapid City and Stephen Catlette of Watertown; one sister, Amy Volk of Waseca, Minn.; two brothers, Larry (Betty) Catlette of Ellendale, N.D., and Clyde Catlette of Faribault, Minn.; and three grandchildren, Olivia, Samuel and Drew Catlette. His parents and two sisters, Jane Holderby, and one infant, Joan Catlette, preceded him in death. Honorary casketbearers will be his co-workers, teammates and his grandchildren. Casketbearers will be Rick Lipp, Jay Kleinknecht, Danny Webb, John Hettich, Slim Fix and Don Johs. The organist will be Sonya Kempf and there will be special music by Alisa Brown, Dianna Hoffman and Joy Gottschalk. Carlsen Funeral Home and Crematory of Aberdeen have been entrusted with arrangements.

My deepest sympathy to Brian's family. I remember Brian's sense of humor and quiet, good nature; he was one of my classmates and a good athlete at Frederick High School [1960-1963].
