Steve was an outstanding soldier a very good man, and a personal friend. I attended the Officer Candidate Course ( OCS 4-65) at Fort Benning with Steve and he will always be my OCS Brother.

Words cannot describe how heartbroken I am at the news of Steve's passing. He was my mentor in life as well as my godfather.
He nurtured my faith from infancy and had been a constant loving presence in the family until hid illness started.
He is my Eagle Scout mentor, and he was a shepherd for me. He was the kind of person that I could listen to on the phone for hours, because he just always had good things to say. He loved Ron so much, he must be thrilled to be with him again.
I wanted so much for him to see me get confirmed into the Catholic church and maybe even get married, but God had other plans.
I love you Godfather Steve. You truly were the greatest man I'll ever know.
PS: If someone could read this at his funeral, I would greatly appreciate it. I cannot make it due to travel problems.

Godfather Steve was a wonderful man. He taught me many lessons in life, and was a Shepard of the Lord to my sons Jacob and Luke.
My sons and I were blessed to see him in late April, and we are heartbroken at his passing.
I am thankful though that his faith in the Lord was great, and I know we shall see him again in wondrous splendor in the house of our Holy Father.
Godfather Steve is a great man, and I know he will be watching over us till we meet again.
