Inez Wise Obituary

(Asbury Park Press)

INEZ WISE
ASBURY PARK
Inez Wise of Asbury Park departed this life on Friday, Sept. 19, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. She was born Sept. 20, 1925, in St. Petersburg, Fla., to the late Marion and Marie Bryant. Inez attended Gibbs High School, St. Petersburg, Fla. After graduation, she attended Bethune Cookman College, Daytona Beach, Fla. Inez moved to Asbury Park in the early 1940s, where she met and married James Wise and out of this union they had three sons, who preceded her in death. Inez was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Asbury Park for many years, where she served as a member of the Senior Choir, an assistant to the Youth Choir and a member of the First Aid. She was very active with the Democratic Voters Registration. She was a member of Adah Chapter 17 Order of the Eastern Star P.H.A., which she joined in 1978, and served as worthy matron from 1984-85.
Inez was predeceased by her parents, Marion and Marie Bryant; her sons, Lorenzo, Andy, and James Wise; and two sisters, Patricia Rose and Lucille. She leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband of 54 years, James Wise; a brother, Marion Bryant; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
The ancient definition of casket is "a precious jewel in a box". Inez has been a precious jewel to us, a precious jewel that her family and friends will dearly miss. We are secure in the knowledge that Inez is with her Lord and Savior and will suffer no more.
Relatives and friends may call from 9 a.m. Saturday until the funeral at 10:30 a.m. at Second Baptist Church, 124 Atkins Ave., Asbury Park. Interment will be in Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls. James H. Hunt Funeral Home, Asbury Park, is in charge of arrangements. Letters of condolence for the family can be emailed to the funeral home at [email protected].

Mr. Wise,

My deepest sympathy to you and the Wise Family. Inez will be missed by the Second Baptist family, for she was supportive of her church, and I remember her support of the Zenobia-Xenia Ware Scholarship Ministry of Second Baptist Church. She always had a smile and a kind word of encouragement whenever I would talk with her. May God Bless You and your family.

In HIS Love,

Linda Jones Mitchell

To Jim and famliy,

You have our most deepest sympathy. We will surely miss Inez for she was a sweet and loving person . She always took a interest in our kids as they were growing up and always asked if we were moving back to Virginia? She always said " I hope not yet".

Love,
