Alfred Moroni Obituary
Alfred (Ted) Gino Moroni, 79, was born January 11, 1937 in Woodland, CA to Gino and Mary Moroni of Meridian, CA. He passed away December 15, 2016 at Rideout Hospital, surrounded by his family.
Ted graduated from Colusa High School in 1956 and attended UC Davis. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He joined the Sutter County Sheriff's Reserve in 1958 where he served over 20 years, retiring as the Captain of the Sheriffs Reserves. He married his lifelong love Deanna Gail Van Zandt on March 18, 1962.
He is survived by his wife Deanna Moroni, his sister Marlene Ettl (Mike), his sons Tim Moroni (Karen), Steve Moroni (Katherine), Mark Moroni (Dana), his grandchildren Michael Moroni (Katie), Matthew Moroni (Lexi), Kyle Moroni, Thomas Moroni, Nicolas Moroni, Emily Moroni and two great-grandchildren Klaira Moroni and Brooke Rainer. He was preceded in death by his father Gino Francis Moroni and his mother Mary Florence Moroni (Giusti).
Ted was a life long farmer in the Meridian are and was a very loving man. He was a straight shooter and told you how it was whether you wanted to hear it or not, a trait that earned him the nickname of "Terrible Ted". He actually was a big teddy bear and that is how he acquired the name Ted. He loved hunting and fishing, but the thing he loved most was attending his children and grandchildren's sporting events.
He was a member of the Yuba Sutter Farm Bureau, Elks Lodge and the Moose Lodge. He frequented various restaurants on a regular basis and kept all the waitresses on their toes with his vibrant personality.
All services will be held December 29, 2016 at St. Isidore's Catholic Church. Services will begin at 10:00 a.m., burial at the Sutter Cemetery, followed by a reception at St. Isidore's Parish Hall.
The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff at Rideout Hospital ICU department for their dedication and care.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children or a favorite charity.

Ted will surely be missed by so many people. He was a very loving and caring person. Loved his family with all his heart. Spoke of his boys and grand children all the time. Always had a joke and made sure everyone was smiling when he left. Ted did so much for so many people in his life and I am sure that we are all very grateful to have known him.

I respect Ted and his family as hard working, respectable and friendly people. Ted was one of the first people I met when moving to this area to work in the gas fields. He ran a quality operation. Fields well kept and equipment maintained. I always looked forward to our conversations and negotiations, sometimes one-sided when the "gas company" stepped out of line. Without a doubt his family was his priority. My prayers are with your family at this time of loss.

I was so sorry to read about Teddy's passing. I remember babysitting for him and Deanna the boys. He will be missed. My prayers are with you. May he forever be kept safe in the palms of his hands.
