Family-Placed Death Notice

SORRELLS, Earl Earl Willard Sorrells, 81, of Cumming, GA died at his home on March 21, 2009. A native of Mississippi, he lived for many years in North Little Rock, AR. He was the son of the late Willie and Gladys Sorrells. Mr. Sorrells was an active member of First Baptist Church in Cumming. He was an ordained deacon, was a member of the Gideon's for 38 years and a Mason for 50 years. As owner of Sorrells Construction Company, he was the general contractor for many Forsyth County parks and projects. Mr. Sorrells was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy Ann "Dottie" Sorrells of Cumming, GA; son, Earl Ray (Marilyn) Sorrells of Little Rock, AR; daughter, Sandra Ann (Donald) Wise of Alpharetta, GA; brother, Jesse (Stacey) Sorrells of Landstuhl, Germany; sisters, Nannie Seale Mayfield of Oxford, MS, Emma Jean Griffis of Sardis, MS, Bobbye Hardin of Batesville, MS, Sue Pranker of Jacksonville, AR and Lorraine (Doc) Tramel of Batesville, MS; brother-in-law, Jake (Margie) Voegele; sister-in-law, Sara Donaho; grandchildren, Jennifer Sorrells, Holly Sorrells, Nathan (Georgia) Wise, Rachel (Jody) Spain, Rebekah Wise; great-grandchildren, Jonah Sorrells, Chesney Wise, Raegan Bogard, Avery Spain and Cassie Sorrells; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 in the McDonald and Son Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Georgia Military Cemetery in Canton, GA.
