Reading through these wonderful messages makes me smile through my tears at thought of how Rob made so many people laugh. What a wonderful blessing for all of us who knew him and laughed with him (and sometimes at him). Rob walked me through some of my darkest days with his humor and sincere friendship. Even when he would frustrate you, you couldn't stay mad for long because his sincerity alway shone through. Thank you, Rob. You will be greatly greatly missed.

I was fortunate enough to meet Robbie at Ga Southern in the 80s and soon realized that we had mutual fiends. He was a great guy, always friendly and the kind of person who always had a smile on his face. He will be deeply missed

Paris, how fortunate to have spent days with you, Rob and your entire beautiful family on that cruise to Alaska; will always remember that drive through the California wine country with you and Rob; and what fun we had fishing with Rob last summer in Florida. Our lives have been blessed for having known your beloved man, Rob.

Getting to know Rob over the past few years, while working with him at Peachtree Center, has been such a gift. I always admired his crazy sense of humor, and his ability to make us all laugh at the drop of a hat. Rob was an amazing guy, and I'm sure going to miss him. Keeping his family and friends in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

I am sorry to hear of such a tragic loss and wish the family all the best.
Although it's been 20 years since I worked with Nick at NCG Architects, I still remember Rob's visits and how he always had a kind word and a smile for everyone. Looking at Rob's picture reminds me how much he looked like Nick.

It's been years since I've had the pleasure of speaking with Rob or Paris. Life has a way of moving things around on you. I do remember though, the first time I met Rob he went out of his way to make me feel like part of the Nichols family. If there was ever a more genuine and wholesome guy, I've never met him.
While it was far too early for him to leave us, we should all be so lucky to have such a positive and lasting impact on the world around us as Rob did. I really didn't get a chance to know him as well as I would have liked back then and yet here I am all these years later deeply saddened by the news of his passing. That is the kind of impact a truly special person has on you.
Rest my friend, and Godspeed.
To Paris,
No words can help how you weather this storm, but you are strong and I know you have people who love you. Please let us know if there anything you ever need. Our thoughts are with you.

I am one of the lucky people who had the pleasure of working with Rob at Peachtree Center. My memories of him all have one thing in common…laughter. I laughed as he would walk by my office making faces at me, when he came into meetings wearing what I swear were fancy women's glasses, and when he flew past me on the highway on the way to work one morning only to tease me about my “old lady driving” when I arrived. But one of my most endearing memories of Rob was how excited he would be on Friday afternoons awaiting Paris and Anthony's arrival so they could all go to lunch together. He was so filled with pride watching his little boy visit with all of his co-workers, giving everyone hi-fives. Rob was such a genuine person. He was so sweet and kind and my life is better for having known him.

Robby was one of the nicest guys that I knew from High School. Some of my best memories of the 1980's were when several of our classmates would hang out in Ken Crochet's basement. Robby would always say something funny, do something funny or pull a practical joke. He was the life of the party and he will be missed by everyone who knew him. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

I've know Rob and his family more years than I can count. What a gorgeous guy, inside and out, the beloved baby of my best friend Pat Nichols. Though Pat went from this life to more life in December 2001, I still feel her love so keenly. She's spoken to my heart so much over the past days, assuring me that Rob is with her. Love cannot die. Life does not end. As a Pastor I had in Bend Oregon says it..."death is mostly a change of address". For Paris and Anthony and all the dear wonderful Nichols Family, grieve well. The loss of Rob among you is heartbreaking. And may you rest in the comfort of God's care and Robbie's ongoing love for you...always! I wish I could be there to hug you all. My prayers are with you.

I also went to Druid Hills H/School with Robby. He Graduated a year prior, he was so Polite and Such a Funny Guy. He is One that really Cared about others! He showed me to some classes that he had taken before. I Remember him always being happy, and smiling. We Never know what Tom. is going to bring.( God Works in Mysterious Ways) He wrapped him in his arms, and Greeted him through the Pearly Gates of Heaven. Robby is Now Looking down on us all.... I am So Very Sorry For Your Loss, I will not be able to attend the Service. I am Praying For Your Family that God will be with you all, and give you strength to get through this Horrible Time in Life. God Bless Classsmate / Druid Hills H/School 1982

We will always remember you and cherish you. I will never understand why God took you when he did. But it gives me great comfort to know we will be together again soon.
I will love you forever,
Your big sister,

My heart is breaking about Rob. Shelby told me she saw the family at the hospital. I think Pat must have wanted Shelby and I to know. Pat loved her baby so much...as well as the rest of her kids. I still miss her every day. She has Rob in her arms. I worked at Georgia Power and would often see Rob and Pat's beloved dog walking around our building. I would always stop and say "hey". I remember Robby running with his black lab. As the dog ran, he held the leash through the window of his truck and drove (It was winter). I trained my dog to do the same thing! Sympathies to all of the Nichols family. I know Rob is in a beautiful place with his Mom (and my surrogate Mom), Patricia Nichols.

I went to Fernbank Elementary and Druid Hills High School with Robby and lived across the street on Springdale during high school. I remember him as always smiling or laughing and having fun. A little bit of a prankster but in the way you remember fondly, with a very kind heart. It was great to see him a few times at reunion events in recent years so happy with his family. I am very sad to learn of his passing. You are in my prayers.

Almost every time I visited Rob's neighbor, next door, I saw Rob out in the yard with Anthony and Lily, the aged black Pug. Mary, Rob's neighbor, was always gracious enough to let me bring my Pug when I stayed at her house. So in the front yard Rob and I naturally talked about Pugs.He was always amicable and smiling even to his neighbor's guest. I am so sorry for your family's tremendous loss. You all will be in my prayers. With blessings, Cynthia Shelton

some of the best times of my life were in my 20s with Robb; wonderful memories. Robb always pushed life to full throttle. I asked him once, "why do you keep taking such risks when the pay-offs seem small?" he answered that he was made that way. at the time, I did not understand. now at a mature age, I do understand; he was squeezing the marrow out of life.

I was Robbie's 3rd grade teacher at Fernbank School, and I remember him just as he was described in the obituary. The sentence "His sense of humor, charisma and pure heart made him someone that everyone loved to be around" sums him up perfectly. It's nice to know that he grew into such a fine man. My heart is heavy knowing of this loss.
