50, of Scottsdale, AZ passed away on November 23, 2016. Mike, born November 28, 1965, grew-up in Lewiston, Idaho and graduated from Lewiston Sr. High School in 1984. He served in the U.S. Army as Specialist / Battery Supply Clerk in Erlensee, Germany, for two years and then obtained a business degree from University of Idaho, graduating in 1991. While at University of Idaho, he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity where he served as treasurer and made many lifelong friends. Upon graduating, Mike began his career in health insurance with John Alden Insurance in Boise, Idaho. After several different assignments, he transferred to John Alden's Phoenix office and later joined Guardian Health Insurance where he continued as executive sales consultant to the present time. Mike met his wife, Yvette B. (Simon) Peterson, shortly after moving to Phoenix and was married in 2001. His daughters, Anna and Sophia, were born in 2002 and 2004, respectively. Mike enjoyed boating and water skiing with his family at Roosevelt Lake where he taught his girls how to swim, dive and water ski. He was an usher at Impact Church, played the guitar, worked hard at his job, and loved his family and friends unconditionally. Mike is survived by his wife, Yvette B. (Simon) Peterson and daughters Anna and Sophia. He is also survived by his father Allan Peterson of The Dalles, OR, his sister Carol Peterson, Houston, his brother Jim Peterson & wife Noel, Seattle, and his brother Tom Peterson and wife Peggy, The Dalles. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Elizabeth (Emy) Peterson in 2002. Other surviving family members include 8 nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mike's life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3rd, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at 12462 N. 80th Place, Scottsdale, AZ. In lieu of flowers, the family asks friends donate to a charity of their choice in Mike's honor.
