Roland Dail Obituary

Dail, Roland L.
96, of Peoria passed away on June 10, 2016. The third of five children to Dubert and Emma Dail, Erie, IL. Graduated Erie High in 1938. Joined the U.S. Navy, attended Naval Ware College during WWII. Sang "God Bless The Queen" and "How Great Thou Art" to Winston Churchill and Pres. F.D. Roosevelt during the signing of the Atlantic Charter. Married Betty Wilson in 1947, had 4 children, and celebrated 55 years. In IL., he loved progressive farming. In AZ, he worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. A licensed Civil Engineer, he co-owned and managed Sunny Boy Water Co. in Peoria AZ. He was an honorary "Melvin Jones Award" recipient of the Lions Club. After his wife's death, Dorothea Daw and family came into his life. Survivors include Dorothea Daw, daughters Marsha Dumo and Beth Gunderson, sons Tim and Mark, 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, sister Peggy Koster, brother Robert. Memorial Service at Youngtown United Methodist Church 11234 W. Alabama Ave. 1100 AM, July 30, 2016.
