Terry Lazin Obituary

Lazin, Terry
Terry Lazin, 62, of Paradise Valley, Arizona died March 18th, 2015 after a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Terry is survived by her brother John, his wife Audrey and beloved nieces and nephews: Megan, Katie, Andrew, Daniel and Matthew, as well as six grandnieces and grandnephews. She will be missed dearly by her constant companions: her true love Malcolm, her cousins Meredith and Alfred, and many loved ones who were at her bedside during her final days and moments on this earth. She also leaves a vast extended family of steadfast and treasured friends and her cherished dogs: Border Collies, Dakota and North and her rescued Australian Cattle Dog, Zoey. Terry was always a driven, passionate person who thrived from a challenge. She graduated magna cum laude in three years from the University of Pennsylvania and received her Juris Doctor degree from the Temple University School of Law. Terry enjoyed an unparalleled career as an accomplished attorney, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. A born-leader, Terry served as staff attorney on the United States House of Representatives Select Committee on Assassinations to investigate the assassinations of John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr. She also directed the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Bureau of Consumer Affairs. Terry was a businesswoman at heart, later becoming President and CEO of the Lazin Group, her own national marketing firm and events agency serving a vast clientele of Fortune 500 companies. She founded the NFL Players Golf Club, which owned an exclusive license to market NFL players in the arena of golf-related events and promotions. In addition, she created the very successful NFLPA Super Bowl Golf Tournament. Terry's final endeavor, the Lazin Animal Foundation, is a private non-operating foundation that strives to lead the way in creating innovative projects that promote life-saving measures and best practices within the animal rescue community. The Foundation, which will continue to honor Terry's generous and kind spirit, is specifically dedicated to preventing the abuse, neglect, suffering and euthanasia of treatable and adoptable homeless dogs and cats. Terry had an unwavering commitment to not only find, but experience the true gifts and possibilities of life while facing adversity. She constantly pushed her own envelope and spoke of excellence in her continuous efforts towards fulfillment, for herself and all others. She was truly an inspiration to those whose lives she touched. Terry - with never-ending love and gratitude, may you rest in eternal peace.

I didn't know Terry well - but you didn't have to in order to be profoundly affected by her courage and determination, her creativity and her graciousness. Rest in peace, Terry. You'll be missed.
