Flonnie Marie Hannagan Horton

1919 - 2008

Flonnie went home to be with the Lord on a beautiful Sunday morning, June 1, 2008. She is survived by two brothers, Bill Willis of Petaluma, CA and Jack Willis of Texarkana, TX. Also by two daughters, Wanda Hall Slert of Bakersfield, CA and Janice Calkins of Lake Oswego, OR; a stepdaughter, Frances Burgess; by six grandchildren, Cheryl Bradshaw of Bakersfield, Douglas Hall of Chico, CA, Kamala Heisler of Bakersfield, David Hall of Santa Barbara, CA, Sascha Calkins of Tustin, CA and Gavin Calkins of San Jose, CA. She has 10 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lula Willis and by her brothers, Clifford Willis, Walter Willis, Chester Willis; and a sister, Fay Rudolph; her husband, Bill Hannagan; and E.C. Horton. Flonnie loved her family. She was blessed to continue to work at chauffeuring and child care duties whenever she was called on by her family until her death. She was the official chocolate pie maker for the family at holidays, a skill she taught her grandson and three of her great- grandsons. She crafted special Christmas stockings for all her grandchildren and Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls for each family. Her memory will live on. Visitation will be at the Delano Mortuary on Saturday, June 7th, 9:00 a.m., with a private graveside service at the North Kern Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. A memorial service will be held at the Florence Gardens clubhouse at the Canyon Hills Church, 6701 Auburn St., Bakersfield, CA on Sunday, June 8th, at 3:00 p.m. Flonnie Marie Hannagan Horton Sept. 17, 1919 - June 1, 2008
