Peggy Eddy Obituary

Peggy Ann Eddy October 30, 1936 - June 24, 2011 Arvin resident, Peggy Eddy, died peacefully on Friday surrounded by those who loved her most. Peggy was the second of five children born to the late Kenneth and Zula Carlile. She once lived in Missouri and Arkansas, but moved to Arvin as a teenager and graduated from Arvin High School. Peggy was a devoted sister to her four surviving Carlile brothers and their wives: Charles (Sonny) and Jean, Kenneth (Tootie) and Betty, James (Jimmy) and Robin, and Anthony (Tony) and Juli. Nothing brought Peggy more pride and delight than her five children JoAnn (Fink) Linder, Karen Fink, Julie (Eddy) Robinson, Rhonda (Eddy) Rutherford and Dennis Eddy. Peggy was blessed with ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and it brought her unspeakable joy to send cards to all of them on their birthdays and every holiday. Peggy loved listening to country music and going to concerts but nothing made her happier than spending time with her family. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 28th, from 4:00 to 8:00pm at Arvin Funeral Home. Outdoor Chapel serive will be held on Wednesday, June 29th, at 9:00am at Arvin Cemetery. Mom,
Some people think being called a "Mama's Boy" is a bad thing. Let me be the first to tell you that I look at it a little different. I see the name more as a badge of honor and proudly wear it on my chest for all to see. Our relationship is special. How many other 42 year olds do you know that talk to their mom every day? As I was putting together the memorial video of you my heart was filled with pride. You were the ultimate example of what true parenthood is. You possess all the traits of a successful parent. You always put us first. You made decisions in life by first determining how the decisions affected us. You demonstrated unconditional love for us. You taught me the difference between right and wrong and instilled in me the values that I hold dearest: Honesty, Compassion, Faith, Friendship, Loyalty, Responsibility, Leadership, Justice and most importantly you taught me about Unconditional Love and Family. I chose my profession based upon the values you taught me. You taught me to put others first. You taught me the value of hard work. You taught me to make sound decisions. You taught me to never quit. I wouldn't be here today if you had not taught me to get back up, dust myself off and move forward. You taught me how to be a father. You taught me to enjoy the time I have with my children and to let them know how much they mean to me and how special they are. You made me feel special everyday I was around you. Words cannot express how thankful I am for having you as my mother. I miss everything about you from your smile and laughs to your stories about the struggles of life you overcame. My heart broke as I saw your last breath but I immediately knew you were in a better place. I anxiously await being reunited with you mom. In the meantime I will do all I can to raise Andrew and Brenan in a way that would make you proud. I will make sure that you are not forgotten and will continue passing on the lessons of love you taught me. I love and miss you dearly. Thanks for being such an AWESOME mother to me and Grandmother to Andrew and Brenan. Jonnie also sends her love. I LOVE YOU NOW AND FOREVER. I'll see you soon.

Your loving son,

Dennis
