TIMOTHY STETSON Obituary

Stetson, Timothy Joshua Age 22, died of a drug overdose on Sunday, September 20, 2015, at Tufts New England Medical Center after hours of heroic work by Dr. Eric Garpestadt, Dr. Haval and their wonderful staff, including nurses Cathy, Mary, Bianca and Ellen. Tim is the beloved son of Catherine (Dover) and Robert C. Stetson of Needham, MA. He is also survived by his brother Jonathan Charles Stetson, of Needham and by the love of his life, his daughter, Rowan Lena Stetson. He has wonderful aunts, uncles, and cousins, many of whom rushed to help from all over the country. He was the beloved grandson of the late Charles M. and Adeline (Greco) Stetson of Roslindale, MA, and the late John R. and Florence (Urann) Dover of New Vernon, NJ. Tim attended the Needham Public Schools through junior year and then graduated from Catalyst Academy in Brigham City, UT. In Needham, he played Pop Warner Football for six years, and then played on Needham High School's football, lacrosse and wrestling teams. While at Catalyst, Tim became an avid swimmer and runner and completed his first marathon and several triathlons. Tim was an extrovert who loved people and always wanted to be where the action was. He was very independent, and if there were a theme song for Timmy's life, it would have been Frank Sinatra's "My Way." The wake will be held at Eaton's Funeral Home on 1351 Highland Avenue, NEEDHAM, MA on Wednesday, September 23 from 4 to 8 p.m., with a memorial service on Thursday, September 24 at 10 a.m. at the First Parish Unitarian Church of Needham, at 23 Dedham Ave., Needham, MA. There will be a memorial fund set up through Needham Bank to honor Tim's daughter, Rowan Lena Stetson. For directions or to share a memory of Tim, please visit: www.eatonfuneralhomes.com. Dear Bob, Cathy John And Rowan,

I am terribly Sorry about your loss. Although Tim and I grew distant in the past few years, I was deeply saddened to hear about his passing. Tim was a fun loving, loyal and empathetic person and i will miss him dearly. I will never forget the countless hours we spent on thee football and lacrosse fields together and fishing whenever possible. In nearly all of our interactions, Tim;'s unwavering loyalty and big heart were apparent. he was always quick to stick up for and look out for the ones that he cared about, i only wish that I could have done the same when he needed it. If I can help any of you or Rowan in any way at all, please let me know.

Your Friend,
Tony Frascotti

Tim was #76, I was #45
