Laurie Lydecker Obituary

LYDECKER, Laurie Kerr At age 94, Laurie died peacefully on April 11, 2011. Of Concord, MA, formerly of Basking Ridge, NJ and Short Hills, NJ. Laurie was born in 1916 to Betty Maulsby Bouldin Kerr and Chichester Charles Kerr. She grew up in Llewellyn Park, West Orange, NJ and attended Dearborn Morgan School. She graduated from Wells College in 1938 and married Robert Carpenter Lydecker in 1941. They raised their family in Short Hills, N.J., living there for 46 years before moving to Fellowship Village, Basking Ridge, NJ in 1996. Through the years they enjoyed duplicate bridge and travel. After nearly 60 years of marriage, Bob died in 2000. Laurie will always be remembered by her family for her love, kindness, sense of humor, and graciousness. She leaves her four children: Laurie L. Dings and her husband Charles, of Cotuit, MA; Elizabeth K. Lydecker, of Mechanicsberg, PA; Barbara L. Crane and her husband William, of Somerville, MA; and John C. Lydecker and his wife Wyn, of Darien, CT. She also leaves eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rivercrest Employee Fund (N.E. Deaconess Development Office, 80 Deaconess Road, Concord, MA 01742), or to the charity of your choice.
