Suzie and Family

I knew Pat from early morning shinny hockey at Westside. I wish that I would have had the opportunity to know him more off the ice. I want to be sure that you and your sons know that in addition to being a great skater and a fit athlete, he was well liked and respected by all at our games and I always enjoyed playing with him.

I can't imagine the sadness that you are feeling at this difficult time, but wish you much strength in dealing with your loss.

A Fallen Limb-

A limb has fallen from the family tree.
I keep hearing a voice that says, "Grieve not for me.
Remember the best times, the laughter, the song.
The good life I lived while I was strong.
Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you.
Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through.
My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest.
Remembering all, how I truly was blessed.
Continue traditions, no matter how small.
Go on with your life, don't worry about falls
I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin.
Until the day comes we're together again.

Pat was a friend of mine back in elementary school and I have many good memories of him from those days. While I am very surprised and sad to hear he is gone, I am not surprised to read all of these wonderful comments about him and to see the positive impact he has had on so many people over the years. God be with you, Pat.

Even though i haven't seen Pat in a few years, and after receiving the news of his sudden passing, the memories of he and Suzie, and all the things that he was and will be to me came rushing back.
He was such a genuine person, with so many positive traits and will be missed i know by all. That he loved and was loved back by all that came to know him, I have no doubt.

Suzie & Boys, I cant imagine the pain and loss you and your family are feeling. Pat used to call on me at the Cardiac Cath. Lab in Regina. He was outstanding at his job and a pleasure to deal with, but more importantly an outstanding person. I looked forward to seeing him walk into the unit with that great big smile and usually laughing before we started joking with each other. I hadn't talked to Pat in a few years but always considered him a friend. The great thing about Pat was the chats and the laughs, the talks about our kids and how proud he was of your boys. We golfed many rounds and had a blast every time. All the comments show a man who loved and was loved by family and friends. I wish you and and your boys peace.

I had the privilege of working with Pat at Boston since 2001. Not a day went by that we didn't communicate. He was such a great guy in every sense of the word. Always talking about his family. My Son is the same age as Ryan and we talked often about what they were doing. He was so quick-witted with a smile that could light up a room. I feel honored to have known him. Pat was my best friend growing up before he and his family moved to Winnipeg. While many years have passed since we've seen each other as life has gotten in the way, for me my memories are still vivid of our time together. The friendships we have as children leave a forever mark on our lives and Pat left his mark on me. When I read his obituary, the description was the exact same person I knew all those years ago. Many times I shared stories with my own boys about Pat and the minor mischief that he would invariably lead me into or we'd get into together. A part of me died when I read his memorial but I am so lucky that I had a chance to share my childhood with him. Forever missed. To his loving family and to his parents and sisters who always treated me so well, I am so very sorry for your loss!!

Hello Suzie, Patrick, Ryan and Will,
I met Patrick while working as a nurse in the Cath Lab at the Foothills Hospital. He was our sales rep and it was always a pleasure when he came by to see how things were going. He had such a great sense of humour and really brightened our day. He had a gentle and friendly approach and was very easy going. I remember how excited he was when his first son arrived. A very proud papa!
It never makes sense when someone so special is taken so soon. Maybe that is why they say "The good die young"? I will fondly remember him and keep you all in my prayers.
