Dennis Michael Sliter

SLITER Dennis Michael Sliter, 63, passed away March 17, 2009. He was born in Dallas, Texas on January 14, 1946 to Harold and Barbara Murphy Sliter who preceded him in death. Dennis Michael Sliter received his Bachelor of Arts in 1968 at the University of Texas, he then joined the department of Human Resources to work and help the community, and retired from there after ten years of service. Mr. Sliter then moved forward in his career and he received his degree of Jurist Doctor in 1990 at Texas Southern University, and he was licensed by the Supreme Court of the State of Texas in 1991, and licensed by the Federal Court in 1993. A passion of his was reading about history, and in being a "History Buff". He was very fluent in speaking and reading different languages. Dennis was a free spirit in life as he will be in death. He was a loving husband, brother, uncle, friend and will be missed. Dennis Michael Sliter was God's Best Creation; gift to the world and our family.He is survived by his loving wife, Rachel Presas Sliter; one sister, Carolyn (Michael) Westergren of Corpus Christi, Texas; a brother, James (Jeanette) Sliter of Dallas, Texas; nieces and nephews, Michael Thomas (Jennie) Westergren, Kathleen Michelle Westergren, James Brian Sliter, Donna Marie Sliter, John Mark Sliter-Hays, (Sara); grand nieces and nephews, Ernie, James, Arthur, Dominique, Sophia, Samuel Benjamin Sliter, and James Austin Westergren; grand nieces and nephews, Karadine Limon, Harby Limon, Hermelinda P. Rios, Alexis Ellis King; great-grand nieces and nephews, Victor Limon, Victoria A. Limon and Jimmie Rai Hillmer, III, and Kalynn Joy Limon and Celeste T. Gomez.A Memorial Service to celebrate Dennis' life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 21, 2009 at the Guardian Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a charity of one's choice in memory of Dennis Michael Sliter.Services entrusted to:
