Bub Vickers Obituary
Robstown, TX
Bub Warren Vickers was born in Robstown Texas on 8/2/1947 to Buddy & Treva Vickers. After graduating from Banquete High School in 1967, he married Anne Mitchell in 1968. He served in the US Navy from 1969-1971, and remained in South Texas working as a farmer and rancher. In 1998 Bub received hi BA in art from CCSU then his MFA in art from UTSA allowing him to pursue his dream as an artist. Bub was inducted into the Western Artist od America in 2012 and is the owner of Cowboy Bronze in Fredericksburg, TX.
He is preceded in death by Buddy Vickers (father) and Buc Vickers (son).
He is survived by Treva Vickers (mother) Bob Vickers (brother) and his wife Amy, Judy Segers (sister) and her husband Jimmy, Cherry Ethridge (sister) and husband Neal, Bennie Vickers (son) and wife Leigh, Brad Vickers (son) and wife Lauren and Grand children Kash Vickers, Wesley Vickers, Paige Vickers, Grace Vickers, and Faith Vickers.
Memorial services will be held at the New Beginnings Fellowship 122W. Borden St. Sinton, TX at 10:00 am Friday May 26, 2017.

I am missing Bub today. I think of him often with a smile. I fabricated most all of his sculpture at Deep in the Heart Art Foundry, and we became friends. I went to his gallery in Fredericksburg many times and visited, great stories and memories. He was a unique person you had to get to know to really appreciate his talent and perspective. I wish I had one of his pieces of art in memory of him, I was fortunate to have his friendship. I have a picture his family might want of me and him at the gallery. I'm wondering what of his art might still be around?

We just returned from a trip and were so sorry to hear of Bub's passing. He was such a character as a young man and I remember Roy Vickers, my step dad, always believed in Bub and encouraged him to pursue his artistic abilities. He was gifted.
