Teresa (Codispoti) Medure
Of Hanoverton, Ohio, died at their residence Saturday, May 29, 2010. She was born July 25, 1925 to Joseph and Victoria (Cosentino) Codispoti. Teresa is survived by her husband of 63 years, Frank A. Medure Sr.; five children, sons, Frank A. Medure, Jr., John T. (Marilyn) Medure, Joseph J. (Catherine) Medure, all of Hanoverton, Ohio; daughters, Claudia A. (John) Kelly of Massillon, Ohio and Victoria A. (John) White of Alliance, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Nick Codispoti of Canton, Ohio; sister, Anna Marie McNally of Broomfield, Colo; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents and three grandchildren, Jeffrey J. Medure, Thomas A. Medure and David P. White.
Theresa began her life in St. Andrea, Catanzaro, Italy, and immigrated to American with her family, June 5, 1937, where they lived in Canton, Ohio. She was a graduate of Timken High School Class of 1944. Teresa supported the efforts of World War II, as one of the 'Rosie the Riveter' women at the Berger Manufacturing Company and worked as a bookkeeper for Peoples Bank. Married on June 21, 1947 at St. John's Catholic Church in Canton, Ohio, she was a devoted wife and homemaker; enjoyed gardening and loved flowers of all kinds; some of her favorites were roses, orchids, carnations and violets.
Calling hours for the family and friends will be held at Maple Cotton Funeral Home, Kensington, Ohio 44427 Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral Mass and Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. John's the Evangelist Catholic Church, 16017 Smith Road, Summitville, OH 43962. Burial will follow at St. John's Church Cemetery. A reception will follow at the church hall.
