Karen Delfausse Obituary

Karen Kinsey Delfausse
January 11, 1949 - June 3, 2021
Indian Land, South Carolina - Karen Kinsey Delfausse, 72 of Indian Land, SC, passed away from natural causes on June 3, 2021. Karen was born January 11, 1949, daughter of the late Jack and Caroline Kinsey. Survivors include her husband, John Delfausse; four children, Tara Maher and husband TJ, Shawn Delfausse and wife Meg, Megan Sutsko and husband Ron, and Christopher Delfausse and wife Laura; eleven grandchildren, Kylie, Verena, Leah, Cole, CJ, Kinsey, Coby, Granger, Oliver, Paxton, and Brynja; and two brothers, Bob Kinsey and Jim Kinsey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Judy Lampe. Karen and her husband John were married on November 22, 1969. They started their family in 1971 in Rockville Center, New York and Karen dedicated herself to being a full-time homemaker for her busy family. Karen and John moved frequently while raising their four children and spent three years in England which Karen always said was one of the happiest times of her life. They settled for retirement in the community of Sun City, SC and enjoyed time at their beach house on Bald Head Island, NC. Karen was a larger than life personality. She had a wicked sense of humor and strong sense of self. She was insightful, moral, intelligent and wise. Her expert analysis and advice were sought after by many. She was a great hostess and lived for special events, parties, and vacations. Artistically gifted, she enjoyed crafting and interior design. She was a PTA mom, Girl Scout leader, and member of quilting, crafting, and sewing groups, book clubs and bible study. The great joys of Karen's life were watching her children grow to achieve their dreams, seeing them all find happiness in marriage, and spending time with her eleven grandchildren. She showed love through her legendary cooking and baking, thoughtful gift giving, and by always being there to answer the call. She will be dearly missed by the family and friends she leaves behind, but her memory lives on through the legacy she created. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Interstitial Cystitis Association at www.ichelp.org. This is a condition that ailed Karen throughout her adult life. Online condolences may be made at www.peacocknewnamwhite.com. Peacock - Newnam & White Funeral and Cremation Service, Southport, North Carolina.
