Trevor Bowman Obituary
Weaverville - Trevor George Bowman, 17, of Weaverville, went to be with Jesus on Monday, April 11, 2016 after battling cancer starting from the age of 6.
Trevor enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and held a special bond with his cousins. He loved being outdoors and had a passion for living life. He enjoyed wakeboarding, swimming, surfing, water skiing, snow skiing, hiking, camping, and off-roading in his Jeep 4X4.
Trevor was Student Body President of North Buncombe High School. He was captain of the Swim Team and a member of the Beta Club. He held a 4.5 GPA, and would have graduated with highest honors, and planned to attend Liberty University.
Trevor was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and was very active with the youth group at North Asheville Baptist Church. Trevor had an incomparable passion for the gospel of Jesus Christ. His faith in our Holy Father was matched only by his love for leading others to the cross both one on one and through mission trips. His talents for showing others the path to Heaven led to him being loved and admired by everyone he met. The connections he made through helping others get saved were immeasurable, and his legacy of unwavering faith lives on in the hearts of his fellow believers in Christ.
Trevor is survived by his parents, Danny and Torri Bowman; brothers Avery Daniel Bowman and Gavin Griffin Bowman; maternal grandmother Alice Griffin (and late husband Steve); and paternal grandmother Shirley Bowman (and late husband George); uncles Steve Griffin, Mike Griffin, Donny Boggs; aunt Debbie Wynne and uncle Chuck Wynne; and cousins Tate Wynne, Cyle Wynne, Emily Wynne, Jonathon Boggs, Jennifer Boggs, Macie Boggs, and Mathew Boggs.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at Trinity Baptist Church of Asheville, with the Rev. Dr. Ralph Sexton, Jr. and the Rev. Allen Rash officiating. Interment will follow at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities, www.rmhc.org.

My family will be Praying for each and every one of you guys. Please remember that those we love don't go away, they walk beside us everyday, still loved, still missed but very near. The Lord has gained a very amazing person and never forget that. Goodbyes don't mean forever they just mean until we meet again. Trevor is now in paradise better than before, cancer free. The cancer didn't beat Trevor. No, Trevor beat the Cancer. He is is so strong and encouraging and a leader to all. He inspired each and everyone of us. Though he is dearly missed, tears have been shed, hugs and kisses have been given and even more tears- happy and sad, Just know that he is with you not only in your heart but every where you go. No matter how hard it hurts, how much you just want to see him, just look up at the stars at night and know that Trevor is there looking down upon you, loving you and smiling. When you are driving to work, he will be sitting next to you in your car smiling and holding your hand. Trevor will never be forgotten. May he rest in the beautiful skies of heaven in Gods arms.

My son, Logan, and I had the opportunity to meet Trevor and your family while we were in Florida for proton therapy. We will never forget the wonderful evening of racing and what an amazing young man you raised. My heart aches for you as you say goodbye to your blessed son.
