Reginald Scarbrough Obituary

Reginald Scarbrough, 56,passed away Dec. 24, 2003, in Topeka. He was born Sept. 22, 1947, to John and Bernice Bell Scarbrough in Little Rock, Ark. After graduating from Highland Park High School in 1966, Reginald served in the U.S. Marine Corps for two years. He attended The University of Kansas from 1969 to 1971. During that time, he owned and operated the Gaslight Tavern in Lawrence. He graduated from ECPI in 1972 and served as a computer operator for the state of Kansas. He owned Rainsoft Water Treatment Co., and also was a stockbroker with B.C. Christopher, and a car salesman. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Scarbrough. Reginald married Anita Armstrong in 1969, in Lawrence. She survives. Other survivors include his sons, Christopher Scarbrough, Topeka, and Cylus Scarbrough, Lawrence; a brother, Lewis Scarbrough; two sisters, Lynetta Hawkins and Denise Scarbrough, both of Henderson, Nev.; and two grandchildren, Luke and Mercedes. Reggy was a people person who enjoyed talking with people from all walks of life. He was a beloved husband, father and brother. Cremation is planned. There will be no services. I'm so sorry to hear of Reggie's passing. I worked with Reggie many years ago in the car business and ran into him many times after that. He always had a smile to share with me and some interesting story of what he was up to at the time. My condolences to his family and other friends.
