Memphis, TN
Ashley Elizabeth Leem, 34, passed away August 10, 2017. She was the daughter of Melissa C. Lindsay and Danny Leem.
Ashley attended St Agnes Academy where she developed a special technique of painting. She spent her Senior year at Overton High winning numerous awards and scholarships. She attended Governors School of art. She was a graduate of Memphis College of Art. A member of Rozelle Art Guild and the Horn Lake art program.
Ashley was an avid runner, finishing the St Jude Marathan and only missing the Boston Marathan by two seconds. She was a member of Pilgrimage Track Club and Memphis Runners and Track Team. Her other passion was her volunteering at the ComeUnity Cafe where she touched many lives with her sweet outgoing personality.
Ashley is survived by her daughter, Lia Schauffler. Mother, Melissa Lindsay (Phil) And father, Danny Leem. Stepfather, Rick Dwyer. Grandmother, Winnie Cox Rials, Uncles, Jere L Cox (Joanna), Jim Cox, Great-Aunt, Ann Babb Keckler (Charles), Cousins, Kristen, Stephen, Cameron Cox and Matthew, Tyler Cox. She was preceded in death by Erica Cox Hendershot.
There will be a Memorial Service Saturday, September 16, at 11 a.m., Memphis College of Art Auditorium. Memorials can be sent to Memphis College of Art, Ashley Leem Scholarship Fund, 1930 Poplar Ave. Memphis Tn 38104.

Oh wow!!!
Ashley was a great joy. I can't count the number of grill cheese that I made her. She was a student to remember. So full of joy. I can hear that laugh of hers even now. My condolences to the family. A jewel has being taken. May God bring comfort to us all. Rest in love Ashley

Deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Ashley Leem. I had the good fortune to work with her and know her at the Memphis College of Art. She was a lovely person and a dedicated artist. Everytime I would see her in the years after her graduation I noted her ALWAYS at work either drawing, writing or reading. Such a sad loss.

Dear Melissa and family, I am not going to be able to be present with you all Saturday for Ashleys service due to physical illness, but I will be present in my heart and loving thoughts. May it
somehow comfort you all to know that Ashley is forever resting in Gods loving arms in a much better place, and that we will all be together again one glorious day. Ashley was so gifted and her artwork will forever remain as a testimony to that.
