DeRosa, John A.
John A. (Jack) DeRosa of Fairfield, beloved husband to Palma DeRosa entered into eternal rest on Saturday December 1, 2012 in his home with his loving family by his side. Born in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late Frank and Rosina (Viterbo) DeRosa and was retired from the Plumbing and Heating Business. He was in the first graduating class at Fairfield Prep. Jack was a well-known artist and owner of John DeRosa Marine Folk-art. He was a lover of the sea and all things nautical, a true renaissance man. The youngest of 15 Siblings, he was an all-around athlete, an avid reader, loved to fish and travel. Survivors include three children; David DeRosa of Fairfield, Peter DeRosa of Trumbull and Mary DeRosa also of Fairfield, eight grandchildren; Francesca, John David, Dominic, Peter, Julia, Olivia, Russell William and Oriana, a sister Elsie Toomey of Milford. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday December 5th at 10am in Our Lady of Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Rd, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will be at St. Michael's Mausoleum. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8pm in the Parente-Lauro Funeral home, 559 Washington Ave, Bridgeport, CT. 06604. Jack. I was so blessed to have known you. I can say with all honasty that you were one of the great ones. I enjoyed the years I worked with you and have remembered them often and fondly. You made me laugh and you will be greatly missed.

I have so many happy childhood memories that feature Uncle Jack. My heart is broken knowing that I'll never see him again. He was so incredibly kind and caring and loving. My love to Aunt Pam, David, Peter, & Mary. I know how hard it is for you to bear such a huge loss and all of my prayers and love go out to you as you grieve.
