To the Kelly Family:
I lived across the street from you all on Turner Avenue--you all were a great family. I played with Sean on occasion in the younger years and in the teen years, enjoyed meaningful conversations with him. A great person-a big heart--and one fine Kelly boy! I just learned of Sean's passing. My prayers are with you all.
God bless you,
Clark Gilbert

Dear Amy and the Kelly Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Sean was such a wondeful person and I was lucky enough to know him at St. Pet's, Glenbard and U of I. Know that he will be missed, even by those of us who hadn't seen him in many years. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

To Laura and the Kelly Family,
Sean was so fun and full of life it's hard to believe he's gone. We lived together one semester in the Sigma Chi hous. His attitude and personality were so positive, all the time. He never had a bad day. I took it for granted we'd see each other again. Sean and you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Amy and Kelly family,
I knew Sean from our grade school years at St. Petronille and the youth group when we were in high school. He was a dear friend and always full of kindness and joy. He was always smiling, and he made you feel great after each time you saw him. I had not seen for a long time, but his friendship left an impact on me and many many others. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Laura and the Kelly Family, We were so sorry to hear of Sean’s passing. He was one of the very best, a true gentleman and pleasure to be around. I have many wonderful memories of Sean, from working beside him, to the many Mammoth ski trips, white water rafting and some great times we had in Vegas. Most of all, I will always remember Sean, with his fantastic smile, as the true friend he was to all who knew him. He definitely lived life to the fullest and will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort in the days ahead.

Dear Kelly's:
You would be very proud of the tribute we had in Chicago to honor Sean.
The service at St. Giles was beautiful with prayer and song and pictures that showed his full life.
It was his wedding that convinced Tom and I to have the family together to celebrate our union and we thank them for showing how family means so much in good times and we also celebrate a life well lived in sorrow times.
Our hearts are heavy but are so blessed that we knew him and loved him.

Sean's picture says it all. All of my memories of Sean from grade school and high school were of a kind hearted, smiling, happy person. I found myself often jealous of his successes, and his ability to make friends with all those he knew.
My heart and my prayers go out to all those in mourning, may you find peace in knowing Sean's reward is in heaven.

We are so sorry for your loss. We remember Sean from St. Pet's, Glenbard, and CFC. He was a great kid, he always saw the bright side of life, and one or more of our girls always had a crush on him. We know you and his wife will certainly miss him. God Bless all of you, we are praying for you.

Laura & Kelly family,
Dana and I can't properly express the sadness we share with your loss of Sean. I have been blessed with so many great times with Sean over the years, never enough and always wanting to be around him more. His bright smile and personality, kind and generous heart, infectious laughter...what an individual. He will surely light up the party in heaven and make us look forward to seeing him again.
With our love and deep sympathy,
Bill & Dana

Dear Kelly Family, I knew Sean at Glenbard West where we often were put together in classes, I presume because of our surname' s proximity in the alphabet. I never did get to know Sean very well, but I can tell you I have only memories of him smiling and laughing- you couldn't help smiling back. I had to pull out my dusty yearbook to see his face in the lineup of our State Champion football team. I don't reminisce muchabout high school and it is not a book that I get out frequently yet I strangely felt very proud of being a hilltopper.
I hope that as time passes your pain fades but your memories remain clear. I am very glad to have known Sean if for only a while.
Take care, Eric Henzi

Dear Kelly Family,
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Sean. I was a Sigma Chi with Sean at U of I. He was such a nice and fun person. He was just a naturally good person. I will miss him so much. I am glad I got to see him in Chicago over Christmas last year and I am glad Sean got to see the Blackhawks win the Stanley cup. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Sean. God Bless.

Dear Kelly Family,
I'm so sorry for your loss. I just met Sean last week down in Baja, and we had a wonderful time talking and surfing together. He had such a gentle, positive spirit about him that I'll never forget.
I'm so thankful I got a chance to know Sean, even if only for a few days.
I know this must be an incredibly painful time, but I'm sure you have many wonderful memories to help carry you through.

Amy and Kelly family,
I was so so saddened to hear the news of Sean’s passing. I can easily and fondly recall the fun and care-free times we had at CFC hanging around the pool and campfires…those memories bring a smile to my face. I also recall seeing Sean on campus in C-U and the nice time we had catching up after many years.
I want you to know that Sean will be with you always...he will live on in spirit and you'll see that often in the things and people around you...and it will amaze you.
Sadly, I do know the pain of losing a sibling, and so I know the deep sorrow you must feel. I also know that there will be an eventual easing of that deep sorrow. Time is not the healer, as many may say, it’s what we do with that time that heals our heart.
May the good Lord bring you peace and comfort this week and during the tough days ahead. I believe that your faith is strong and I pray that it remains strong, you'll need to draw on it often.
I pass along this Psalm that our CFC friend Cindy Schell passed on to me 5 years ago after our 4 year old daughter Christine died suddenly-may it bring comfort to you as it has to me and my family:
Psalm 34:18
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those who are crushed in spirit.
As the passing days turn into months and years, you will certainly grow to understand what God means when He says 'Do not be afraid, I am with you...' …He is always with you.
My heart is so heavy today. I will keep you and your family and friends in my daily prayers. I know that your faith, family and friends will help you make it through this challenging and sorrowful time.
May the Peace and Grace of God be with you today and every day.
Peace, love and comfort to you my friends...your CFC friend Marty

Laura and family,
We are keeping you in our thoughts and prayer and sending strength your way. We are so sorry that we can't make it out for the funeral but please know you and Sean are on our minds.
We have some great memories of Sean, especially his laugh and how excited he was when I had Oreo cookies in the cookie jar. Sean, Dan and I had some good times together, teasing Mike and rooting against the Lakers, much to your irritation. LOL
Please take care of yourself and stay strong.
With love,
