MICAH AUSTIN

1973 - 2017

Micah Austin, 43, of San Tan Valley, AZ, formerly of Wauconda, IL, passed away Monday, January 2, 2017, from injuries sustained while doing what he loved, exploring on his motorcycle in Salt River Canyon, Arizona. He is survived by his wife Shelley Austin, Parents Susan and Geoff Austin, three sisters, Aimee (Christopher) Marx, Bethany Austin and Sarah (Juan) Cordova, his paternal grandmother, Jolant Vorberg and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by his close friends, many of whom he considered family. Micah was born September 26, 1973 in San Angelo, TX. He graduated from Wauconda High School in 1991. He currently worked as Lead VDC Engineer at Hensel Phelps. His adventurous nature gave him many exceptional work experiences, including the North Wall Rock Climbing Gym, a paramedic/fireman in Wauconda, a crew member for Don Schumacher Racing, Raichle Ski in Colorado and Above and Beyond Home Remodeling. Visitation will be Thursday, January 12, 2017, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home, 235 N. Main St., Wauconda, IL 60084, with a private family gathering immediately following.
